Jill Czarnik is an entrepreneur and sustainability advocate. As the co-founder of The Tribalist, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the platform's mission and driving its vision of healthy, microplastic-free living.
In 2019 Jill had a skin irritation on her face that wouldn't go away. After consulting a few dermatologists, including a multiple day skin-patch testing she was told she was highly allergic to Propylene Glycol, a very common chemical in beauty and skincare products. This was a pivotal moment to realize many of the products sold to us that are labeled with health endorsements are, in fact, not good for us—paradoxically, realizing the proportion of time consumers spend analyzing food ingredients but not the broader array of "ingredients" that make up their lived environment.
With a background in consulting and technology coupled with a passion for health and wellness, I recognized the need for innovative solutions to address pressing environmental challenges often caused by these seemingly innocent products we use every day and saw an opportunity to leverage digital and AI to amplify the impact of healthy living.
Vipul Vyas is the co-founder of The Tribalist and is set to release a groundbreaking book on microplastics and decluttering the home to reduce exposure. With over 25 years of experience in the technology sector, Vipul has been a part of multiple successful startups, driving innovation at the intersection of machine learning, natural language processing, and practical everyday solutions.
Vipul’s commitment to environmental advocacy began in high school, where he founded a conservation club that collaborated with organizations like the Sierra Club. Early in his career, while living in Charlotte, NC, he worked on transformative light rail projects and volunteered with groups advocating for sustainable regional light rail and intercity rail initiatives between Raleigh and Charlotte.
Currently residing in Palo Alto, California, Vipul lives with his wife and son. Over the past decade, he has transformed his 8,600-square-foot suburban property into a self-reliant space, planting over 100 fruit trees and establishing numerous vegetable boxes. This personal project reflects his dedication to sustainable living and creating healthier environments.
In addition to his entrepreneurial achievements, Vipul is an accomplished educator, teaching at the University of San Francisco and most recently leading the healthcare policy concentration. His academic work emphasizes healthcare initiatives that enhance access and sustainability. He is also an active member of SFLuv, a non-profit organization committed to fostering local circular economies and promoting sustainable consumption.
The Tribalist's Plastic-Free Diet allows you to reclaim control of your lives and break free from the unsustainable consumption and systems that place profit over health, well-being, and environmental sustainability.
The book is a 30 day process for those seeking a more intentional, thoughtful way of living—one that aligns our daily choices with our physical and mental health, our values, and the needs of the planet.
